Summer Field Staff 2008
Our 14-day expeditions for girls are led by two experienced Course Instructors and one Assistant Instructor. They are supported by a Course Director, a Rock Climbing Specialist and a Sea Kayak Specialist. Together, this team creates a safe space for girls to explore their courage, their confidence and their leadership while participate in physical outdoor challenges in a group living experience with a girl-centered curriculum.
We are not a "summer camp,” GirlVentures recruits Professional Experiential Educators to lead two different courses: Project Courage (for girls entering 7th and 8th grades) in Point Reyes National Seashore, and Transitions (for girls entering 9th grade) in the Sierra Mountains. Read more about our Summer Outdoor Adventure Programs below.
Additionally, we have a dedicated and knowledgeable logistics team who support each course.

Summer Internships
We are always seeking to diversify our staff. Women of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
More about our Summer Outdoor Adventure Programs:
Both courses are 14-day expeditions that include activities such as rock climbing, backpacking, creative expression activities, group initiatives, and “sola” time. Project Courage also includes sea kayaking and Transitions includes canyoneering. During the expeditions, girls learn new skills and then take on more and more responsibility and leadership. There is emphasis on problem-solving, self-expression, and conflict resolution. GirlVentures is committed to bringing together groups of girls from all over the Bay Area. In an effort to include girls from economically diverse backgrounds, one third of the program participants pay full tuition, one third receive partial tuition assistance and one third receive full tuition assistance.
