Application Fees & Program Costs
To apply for a program, all potential participants must pay a non-refundable application fee of $25 for Summer Programs. This fee helps cover costs associated with working with potential participants. It also shows a commitment from the participant’s family.
If a potential participant is not accepted into a Summer Program due to medical reasons, then the Application Fee can be transferred to a future program, to be used during the next 12 months.
Programs costs are as follows:
- Girlz Climb On: $550
- Redwood Adventure: $1,325
- Project Courage: $2,525
- Transitions: $2,625
- On The Rise: $1,825
Your program cost covers food, lodging, and transportation while you are on course. It also covers most of the equipment you will need. Additional personal expenses besides program fee may include personal clothing and a physical medical examination.
GirlVentures girls are diverse in experience, ethnicity, race and socio-economic status. To ensure economic diversity, one-third of all program participants will receive full Financial Aid. One-third will receive partial financial aid. One-third will pay full tuition.
Critical to success on a GirlVentures course is a girl’s motivation and willingness to “say yes to try.” The first decisive factor in admissions at GirlVentures is motivation, regardless of financial capacity.
In order to be considered for financial aid potential participants must turn in a financial aid form. Financial Aid is awarded on a first come first served basis – we will review applicants in rounds until all award money is exhausted. The earlier you turn in your form, the better your odds are for maximum financial aid.
The following are some of the factors involved in deciding financial aid awards.
• Household income
• Number of Dependents
• Financial Hardships
• School Experience
• Alumnae status
• Foster Care
• Referrals from teachers and other GirlVentures Partner Organizations
• Overall diversity of course makeup
Payment Contracts will be emailed to potential participants with information about the amount of financial aid awarded (if applicant applied for financial aid), the amount that is the family’s responsibility, and the dates by which payment must be received. Payment Contracts MUST be returned within 10 days (or by date stated on the Payment Contact) in order to secure the participant’s spot and financial aid award (if applicable). If Payment Contact is not returned within 10 days, participant may not be guaranteed financial aid award.
Participants may choose one of two payment methods. 1. Payment in full prior to course start (payment in Full refers to the amount owed by the family, after financial aid award if applicable). 2. Multi-installment Payment Plan. Payment Plans can be established by checking off the Payment Plan box on the Payment Contract.
If payments are not received by GirlVentures as scheduled a late payment of 5% will be charged. This 5% will be compounded monthly if payment remains absent. If payment is not received prior to course start, program participation may be denied.
IN CASE OF PARTICIPANT CANCELLATION
If participant cancels a Summer Program, she may receive partial refunds.
Cancellation with 60 – 45 days remaining before course start: 100% tuition refunded
Cancellation 45 – 30 days prior to course start: 50% tuition refunded
Cancellation 30 days or less prior to course start: 0% tuition refunded.
If participant cancels a School Year Program:
Cancellation with more than 30 days to course start: 100% refund
Cancellation with less than 30 days to course start: 0% refund.
Due to our limited number of financial aid awards, participants who have received financial aid must give at least 30 days notice for cancellation. Lack of notice may affect girl’s participation in future GirlVentures programs. If all paperwork and relevant information is received by GirlVentures by the appropriate deadlines, and you are not accepted for medical or psychological reasons, you will receive a full refund of program fees.
REMOVAL OF STUDENT FROM COURSE
If a student chooses to leave or is removed from the course for behavioral, motivational (including homesickness), and/or medical reasons GirlVentures can not refund your payment. Medical reasons include: illness on course, injury on course, previous or new medical condition or student taking prescription medications that were not reported to our office prior to course start.
In Case of Course Cancellation
GirlVentures cannot make exceptions to the stated policies for any reason, including weather or illness. However, in the unlikely event that we must cancel a course, we will refund all tuition and fees.
GirlVentures will appear on your credit card or bank statement.
