Seasonal Positions
Logistics Coordinator (Seasonal)
GirlVentures | Summer 2026
Love gear spreadsheets as much as backcountry meals? Thrive on organization, problem-solving, and supporting meaningful outdoor experiences for youth? GirlVentures is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to help make our summer expeditions run smoothly from start to finish.
About GirlVentures
GirlVentures is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering transformative outdoor courses for youth ages 11–18. Our programs build outdoor skills, environmental awareness, leadership, and social justice consciousness—empowering young people to become bold agents of change in their communities.
Our participants include cisgender girls, transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse youth. Summer courses include camping, backpacking, rock climbing, and sea kayaking in Point Reyes National Seashore, the Redwoods, and the Sierra Nevada.
The Role
The Logistics Coordinator is a key behind-the-scenes force making our multi-day expeditions possible. Working closely with the Program Director and Program Manager, you’ll manage food systems, gear, transportation, and resupplies—both in the office and occasionally in the field.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable balancing big-picture planning with hands-on work. Expect long packing days, busy weekends during course launches and finishes, and a few extended field days (including some overnight trips).
This is a seasonal, non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime under California labor law.
What You’ll Do
Pack, maintain, and inventory expedition gear (tents, backpacks, stoves, cookware, etc.)
Purchase, organize, and pack food for multi-day courses while maintaining food-handling standards
Manage bulk food systems and expedition menus
Support transportation logistics, including driving vans, trailers, and resupply trips
Issue and track gear loans; assist youth with proper gear fitting
Support course starts, graduations, and course end de-issue and cleanup
Conduct gear cleaning, repair, replacement, and end-of-season inventory
Communicate regularly with supervisors and participate in check-ins and self-evaluations
What We’re Looking For
Experience with (and enthusiasm for) logistics and food packing for outdoor programs
Age 21+ with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Experience driving large vehicles and trailers strongly preferred (CA Class B license a plus)
Familiarity with backpacking, climbing, and kayaking gear
Knowledge of backcountry group food systems
Strong organizational, time-management, and Excel (or similar) skills
Commitment to supporting and empowering girls and transgender and gender-diverse youth
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in variable weather conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation)
Compensation & Schedule
$180–$195 per day
Approximately 50–60 days of work between May 13 and August 21, 2026
Must be available most weekends and some mornings/evenings
