Supporting the personal and professional development of our YAB participants will impact them, and you, for a lifetime. Meeting once a month during the school year, the Youth Advisory Board pairs adult mentors with high schoolers to advance their leadership skills and participate in professional development and collective action for social and environmental justice.

Girls Climb On

The program is limited to 12 mentors and 12 youth. An interview and background a check is required. Mentor positions are open until filled and programs will fill up so apply soon! We strongly encourage people of color and queer people of color to apply for the mentor role.

There is a nominal application fee ($15-$20) that covers costs associated with the administrative and background check required when working directly with youth. If this presents financial hardship, please contact us.

There are no additional fees associated with mentoring if you have your belay card. Gym use, equipment, snacks and training are all provided free of charge. However, if you do not have a current belay card with Touchstone gyms, you will need to take an “Intro to Climbing” course at one of the Touchstone gyms (Mission Cliffs, Great Western Power Co, etc). Courses are $35 and are offered daily.  Visit touchstoneclimbing.com to register

Apply starting December 15th!
